We're the Millers Movie Review

 

I went to see the movie We're the Millers and I was mostly entertained. This movie was hilarious and fun to watch in my opinion. Though this movie can be slightly offensive, maybe more than just slightly. All the characters in this movie aren't related and they all go on a trip together to smuggle drugs into the U.S. Jennifer Aniston, is one of my favorite actresses personally, she's beautiful and amazing and she plays a stripper named Rose who lives next door to this drug dealer, David, played by Jason Sudeikis. David was just a small pot dealer to over-whelmed mothers and chefs and the occasional pothead, but when he encounters a group of thugs, they strip him clean of his pot and money. He is now in debt to his supplier, and former college best friend. His dealer then tells him he must go to Mexico and pick up a 'smidge' of pot from a dealing company. He was dumbstruck, for he was just a small town dealer and he was now being asked to be a drug smuggler, which is a larger crime. He didn't know how he would come about this because he was sure to be suspicious. So, he devises a plan and rounds up his fake wife Rose (Jennifer Aniston) and his 2 fake kids, Kenny (Will Poulter) and Casey (Emma Roberts) for a 4th of July family Vacation. Together, they travel together in a large RV. Their plan worked for getting them in and out of Mexico but what they didn't know is that the 'smidge' of pot filled their entire RV and that David's dealer Brad (Ed Helms), wasn't suppose to get the shipment. He had David steal it from a major Mexican drug dealer. So they are now being pursued by this drug dealer and they are in constant danger. This movie at parts keeps you on edge and it's quite touching. The ending is something you would never expect but at the same time it could also be kind of predictable. It's really sweet at times and sometimes it can be just plain dumb. I must also mention, you see a male private part, yes, clear on the screen, there it is. I would recommend this movie to anyone if you want a good laugh because it is certainly funny but not one of the funniest movies I've seen. I would give it a 3.5/4 out of 5.

Eye Shadow for Hazel Eyes

Ladies, if you have Hazel eyes like me I'll let you in on a little secret, there are specific eye shadow colors that will make your eyes pop out beautifully. Want your eyes to be as captivating as the woman's above? Well, they can! If you use the right colors. Colors like browns, golds and greens work wonders with hazel eyes.

 

Play with the colors that are naturally in your eyes and see what wonders you can do! Any earthy fall colors would go great with your hazel eyes. Try out different shades of browns, greens, golds, tans and see which colors you like best together and which colors make your eyes POP! Warm and neutral browns tend to bring out those colors hidden in the eyes and create a soft makeup look. Using brown eye liner will deepen the eyes, and will definitely be noticed by many. If you prefer to bring out the green in your eyes use an army green on the lid and a darker green near the lashes and that should pop that color right out.

Gold is one of my favorite colors used with hazel eyes. Golds pop out any flecks that may be hidden in those orbs of yours. They create warmer looking eyes when applied to the center of the lid or in the corners of your eyes. That would be highlighting your eyes. If these colors aren't your style, then try purple, which is a contrast to hazel eyes. Create a smokey eye with shades of purple and you will be getting compliments from everyone. Don't forget those long lashes, even with no shadow make them show.

The Conjuring Review

The Conjuring, a 2013 horror movie directed by James Wan, came out on July 19th, not even a couple weeks ago. I had gone to see it, hearing about how scary it was from friends and talking about how they never screamed watching a movie before but they did in this one. After watching it though, I have to admit I'm not really impressed. I disagree with what they say. I did not scream once and I'm one to not like horror films. Yes, there are parts that are suppose to make you jump and the music gets creepy, but none of the scenes are scary in my opinion, just creepy. The doll Annabelle was creepy, the witch was creepy, the house was creepy, the game was creepy but none were scary. The previews made it seem like such a good horror movie but it wasn't as great as I had first thought. The movie ran longer than I had expected, nearly 2 hours long and the movie was a little confusing sometimes. There were, supposedly, more than one spirit in the house despite the entire house being cursed by one witch, who had hung herself after proclaiming her love for Satan. I didn't really understand why the other spirits were present. The two woman spirits, who were introduced in the story kept saying she made me do it. They didn't make it clear who they were talking about but I suppose it was the witch. She has cursed her property and it was split and sold away to different people. Everyone who lived on her property had a disaster happen to them but that doesn't tell us why the spirits congregated at that house. There is also this little boy who leads one of the 5 daughters to his hiding spot, makes her sleep walk at night, I didn't understand the purpose for him either. They say this movie is based on a true story, now that's creepy to think about. Clearly some scenes have been modified and exaggerated for entertainment purposes and I thought that was a great choice. I did enjoy the film, the actors were quite impressive but the story line was a little shaky in my opinion. Others can have a different opinion about this movie. This is mine.

Fairy Festival-Elf Ear Tutorial

I have always been interested in the mystical creatures that have become a part of our society, so last month I went to the fairy festival. I wanted to be festive so I created little elf ears despite it being a fairy festival. There were people there dressed as fairies, elves and trolls so I didn't really feel out of place, in fact, I felt completely blended in. This is how I made my ears, this is my own idea and if you like it then try it:

• This is what the ears I made looked like. For this I used beige Sculpey clay, that was the closest to flesh color and created the shape I wanted.

• After that, I carefully began to mold the clay to create the shape of my ear in the bottom part of the clay. I carved out the center so the mold went over the top of my ear. I made the front very thin as to create a natural looking ear, with all its crevasses. 

• Then, I carefully removed the mold. I didn't have anything really handy to use at the moment so I used the bottom of a fork to create the crease on the outside of the ear. I suggest powering your ear and fingers beforehand with any type of powder, I used XinYinZhui professional finishing powder to coat my ear so the mold wouldn't stick and ruin the shape. 

• After that, the mold may look a little rough but, if you carefully wet your finger with water and gently smooth the mold, the clay should become smoother and nicer. 

• After you have the shape you want, place a piece of tin foil on a cookie sheet and carefully place your mold on it. Place it in the oven, 165 degrees and carefully watch it! It won't take long for the mold to harden and if it's in there too long it will crumble once picked up and you don't want that. If anything were to happen, for example something breaks off then don't fret, there is a way to fix it. I suggest buying 2 Sculpey clay packets, even though you should barely need a full one, in case of mistake you can always fix it by molding the unbaked clay onto the baked clay. That will also help with creating a smoother look to your mold. If everything goes right and it comes out the way you want it to, then applying it is simple.  

• To hold it in place for as long as you want, I used Spirit Gum, a VERY sticky glue used for prosthetics. I highly suggest pulling your hair as far from the working area as possible because if spirit gum gets in your hair, it's not fun to get out. 

• Once you have applied the spirit gum, hold it on you ear for about 30 seconds and count SLOW..Remember it needs time to dry. After you have done that and the ear feels stable enough, use Liquid Latex around the areas where the mold meets your ear, this will get rid of any harsh lines that may be apparent. The liquid latex will make it look more realistic.

• Once your satisfied with how it looks, use a concealer that matches your skin tone and start applying that on the liquid latex once it has had time to dry and blend that up onto the mold. This makes sure the color matches your skin tone making the mold look like it's your ear.

I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial on how to make elf ears using sculpting clay. It's a fun little project and will keep you busy if you're ever sitting at home bored one day! :D

Tree house

So my boyfriend and I are thinking about building a tree house...yes, a house in the trees :D. This idea came up from us watching treehouse masters one night and we started talking about how cool it would be to build one and when we get a real house, which we plan on doing we could rent this one out :). The tree houses on that show are amazing! Such beautiful places they can make. We have come up with some ideas about what we are looking for and I wanted to share some of them :P! So here are some of the cute ideas we were looking at. We want it to be about the size of a decent apartment and I want a deck or another platform where guests and what not could sit and look out over the area. That would be attached to the real house by a rope bridge. To build one can be a little pricey depending on the size, height, tree type, amount of materials and type of materials. We are looking to build one that costs between $25,000 and $30,000 dollars but that's just a developing idea.

 

I love the simplicity of this design plus the light colored wood. I just would like the deck to be a little bigger and out more where the front door is and I'm not really fond of the door design. I would prefer a nicer looking door or maybe even double doors. I would also put more and larger windows if this were what the design looked like.

 I really like this one, I love the double doors for the back and just the small cute design of the entire house. The height might be too low but we haven't really decided how high we want it to be off the ground. The only thing I don't like about it is that from this angle and the picture, the house look quite small and doesn't really have a decent size upstairs.

 This is what I would like the entertaining platform to look like but maybe minus the giant tree through the middle. I would love to put a seating area around a little fire pit and have lights lined around the roof to give it a nice glowing look.

 I absolutely adore these. The unique round design really captures the eye as well as the beautiful shape of the large windows making and creating a collage like tree house.I think what could make these houses better would be designing the roof to grow grass and flowers, creating more of an earthy natural feel to it. I would love to live in these.

 This one is my second favorite, I can't find anything I dislike about it. It matching what we are looking for almost perfectly, the light colored wood, the simple but elegant style, the slightly intricate design and the size. Despite the multiple platforms in the second picture i love the outside design and the inside design. The color is just beautiful.

This one is my all time favorite, it's not too big, it's not too small and it's super cute and amazing! We specifically want an upstairs for our bedroom and this has an upstairs, I mean some of the others did too but this one has it's own little deck upstairs and I love the way it looks on the outside. I adore the walkway up to the house as well as the little stone pathway though I do wish it were a little higher in the trees. We have to negotiate the height off the ground but this is the design I want the tree house to look most like. It's absolutely adorable.

Disney World

Heyy guys! So this month, on July 14, my cousin and I went down to Orlando Florida to spend a couple days at Disney World. We stayed in the Art of Animation Resort, specifically the little mermaid area. It was amazing and beautiful. There where huge statues of King Triton, Ursula, and other Disney characters. It was great. The rooms were very cute, with seashell beds, shell mirrors and they even had a towel shaped as mickey when we came in. The shower was Ariel's cave! The only problem was the food in the resort café, it was cold. I had ordered eggs, bacon and sausage...they were all cold. Other than the cold food it was an amazing experience!

 Florida was hot and humid as usual, there were thunderstorms every day we were there which sometimes ruined our day in the parks. That's another thing, some of the park weren't all that they were cracked up to be. There were a couple rides that were absolutely amazing but after them, we got bored real easy. One of my favorite rides was the Aerosmith ride, it was so fun! We were in this limo like rollercoaster and they count down before shooting you at an extremely fast speed into a dark tunnel of neon lights and signs. The ride goes upside down but you can barely feel it. It was so fun. Also there was this dinosaur expedition ride that made you feel as if you were brought back in time where dinosaurs walked free. They had dinos pop out every where and one of them screamed so loud; that's when they took your picture haha :D.

T-Rex Café!

Me in the T-Rex Café! This place is amazing. I highly recommend eating here if you ever decide to go to Disney. The food is amazing, the place is amazing and the people are amazing!
